WJB yearling purchase, OVERPASS (Vancouver) took his career earnings to over A$5.6million when taking out the Group One Winterbottom Stakes in Perth for Darby Racing.
Trained by Bjorn Baker and ridden beautifully by Josh Parr, the win never looked in doubt when he loomed with his run from the bend.
Having one the inaugural ‘The Quokka’ earlier this year, OVERPASS has shown an affinity for Western Australia.
Purchased at the second William Inglis Easter Yearling Sale in the COVID-19 plagued 2020 yearling sale season with Scott Darby and his team for only A$75,000.
Well done to Scott and his ownership group who continue to have success at the top level on a consistent basis.
He is yet another prime example of why investment in Australia racing should not be taken for granted with the tremendous prizemoney on offer from the East to the West coast of the land Down Under.
